Manifesto

The manifesto explains why OpenKata exists. It lives in the root of the repository, so it is the first thing a contributor finds, and it is the only copy. This page points to it.

Read the manifesto on GitHub.

It covers three things:

  • The shift. Agents continue the move to higher abstraction, so what was implicit craft has to become codified practice.
  • The problem. Most AI-assisted development is ad hoc. Good patterns are discovered and lost, and bad ones are repeated.
  • The response. Codified practices that can be taught, shared and reused, guided by three principles: humans govern and agents execute, portable by default, and explain the why.
